Coupage

Wine from the COUPAGE to the GLASS

Design your own wine before bottling

The coupage is the process where different wines are blended together. Our WineTuning wine cellar places different wines at your disposal made from different varieties of red grapes: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Tempranillo, Syrah, Garnacha, Moristel and Parraleta, each aged in France and American oak for different periods of time between six to twelve months to create your own exclusive blend. The wines that can be blended in the coupage can be different even though they are made from the same variety of grape or they can be wines from different grape varieties. Once the wines have been blended, they are bottled.

The different varieties are vinificated and aged in barrels independently from one another and when it is the right time the blending, or coupage, of the wines is performed. Except in the case of varietal wines (wines of one single grape variety), this blending of different types of wine is undertaken to achieve a result that taken together improves upon the separate varieties. In a traditional Cabernet Sauvignon-Merlot blend the two wines complement each other magnificently: the first wine gives greater body and a longer life and the Merlot brings a certain acidity and fineness.

Would you like a classic Cabernet-Merlot or do you prefer to break the mould? Decide on the proportions that you would like to mix from two to four different types of wine and stick with the blend that you most like? You might also decide not to make a blend because you have been seduced by one particular wine.

Or simply define the style of wine that you would like to obtain and our technical team will guide you in the marvellous art of blending different varieties.

Participate in the process as much as you like, you can come and set the conditions of the coupage or see how your own wine is bottled and labelled.
